Leslie Mitchell, CMP Director of Client Services

As a 20 year veteran of the hospitality/event management industry, Leslie brings a tremendous amount of knowledge and experience to her role.ell, CMP, is the Director of Client Services for Rutherford & Associates

A proud alumna of Penn State University, Leslie began her career in the meetings industry at the Orange County Convention Center as an Event Coordinator.  In this capacity, she directed a wide variety of events ranging from Presidential visits to conventions with over 40,000 attendees.

The Walt Disney World Swan & Dolphin Hotels recognized Leslie’s talent and recruited her to become a Convention Services Manager.  While at the Swan and Dolphin, Leslie received numerous accolades from the hotel and her clients.  In her role, Leslie managed over 30 meetings per year and focused on medical and pharmaceutical meetings.

It did not take long for the Orlando Convention and Visitors Bureau to take note of her skills and recruit her to become a Destinations Meeting Manager.  As a DMM, she worked with both meeting planners and suppliers.  Her primary objective was to meet the needs of the numerous meeting planners holding conventions in Orlando.

Leslie returned to the Orange County Convention Center as an Account Executive.  Managing 200 accounts and contracting 6 million dollars of new business, Leslie seized the opportunity to exhibit her presentation, contract negotiation and customer-comes-first skills.

Leslie became affiliated with Rutherford & Associates in 2005 as a consultant.  In 2009, Leslie joined the firm on an exclusive basis.  As Director of Client Services, Leslie is responsible for overall account oversight and directing our account teams to insure our clients’ needs are met.

Leslie received and has maintained her designation as a Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) since 1997.
